Overview
From sports-related injuries to bones and joints in need of repair, our Center for Orthopaedics leads the way to recovery. The Center is known for both its surgical expertise and its rehabilitation capabilities, as well as for its high quality total hip and knee replacement programs.

Services
The Center takes an integrated approach to diagnosis, treatment and recovery – including the following specialty areas:

Sports Medicine Program
Provides a comprehensive line of services ranging from fitness and injury prevention to surgical intervention and outpatient rehabilitation.

Center for Rehabilitation
Offers inpatient and outpatient therapies including physical and occupation therapy, speech therapy, psychological services, prosthetics/orthotics, industrial medicine and cardiac rehabilitation.

Comprehensive Pain Management Center
Identifies diagnostic and treatment options, from traditional methods to alternative therapies, for the management of chronic pain and its causes.

Computer-Assisted Surgery
The Center utilizes two innovative computer-assisted surgery systems for orthopedic surgery. The new image-based navigation systems allow the surgeon to track the movement of instruments in difficult-to-access, hard-to-visualize spaces, which may enable smaller incisions. The guidance offered by these systems may improve the alignment of artificial joints, improve the stability of those joints, and potentially lead to longer use of the implants.

The Hanna Bed
For hip replacement surgeries, the Center’s Hanna bed (Profx fracture table) offers patients and their orthopedic surgeons a new option – anterior approach to hip replacement. The value of the surgical table is that the hip joint can be reached from the front rather than the back or side. By taking this path, the surgeon can replace the hip without detaching the muscle from the pelvis or the femur. Because the muscles are not detached, they do not require a lengthy healing process.
