Application Process
When you apply for a job at Catawba Valley Medical Center, your application is reviewed in Human Resources. If your qualifications match our requirements, we then forward your application to the department director for their review. If you are chosen for an interview, you will be contacted by the department director.
If you are not chosen for an interview, we will keep your application on file in the Human Resources Department for 90 days. During this period, you may add positions that you’d like to be considered for by calling the Applicant Information Line at 326-2051.
So, if you already have an application on file and you would like to be considered for additional positions that were not listed on your original application, please leave a message on the Applicant Information Line and include the following items:
- Name
- Phone Number
- Approximate Date of Original Application
- The new position that you would like to be considered for
We will then forward your application for the additional positions.

How to Apply
- Applications are taken in person in the Human Resources Department at Catawba Valley Medical Center on Tuesdays and
Wednesdays from 9AM to 12AM and 1PM to 4PM. You may apply for three positions on each application.

- Resumes may be faxed to CVMC Human Resources Department at 828-326-2450.
- We do not accept faxed copies of applications.

Pay Determination
Each position at CVMC is on a grading scale. The scale includes minimum, midpoint and maximum pay for each grade. The pay minimums are listed on our Job Posting List. Experience plays a large part of the overall pay process. Starting pay is based on minimum pay plus 5% extra for each year of experience, not to exceed 25% over the minimum pay rate. |

Shift Differential
Certain positions will receive a shift differential for 2nd and 3rd shift workers. These differentials range from 40 cents to $3.00 per hour. When you are interviewed, the director or manager will review the shift differential with you. |
