Catawba Valley Medical Center Announces 2008 Board Officers, Two New Trustees

Catawba Valley Medical Center (CVMC) recently announced the addition of Gary Laws and Jim Wright to its Board of Trustees, according to J. Anthony Rose, president and CEO of the medical center. “We are very pleased that these key community citizens will lend their leadership and expertise as board members as Catawba Valley Medical Center continues to serve area citizens with quality healthcare,” said Rose.
Laws is business relations executive for Duke Energy with an office in Hickory. “I look forward to serving on the Catawba Valley Medical Center Trustee Board because quality health care is obviously important to members of our community. Beyond that, a well-respected medical center is vital to our area’s economic health. Lastly, it will be an exciting time in CVMC’s history to serve on its board as the large expansion project begins which will even further enhance the medical center’s offerings.”
Wright, senior vice president for CommScope, also in Hickory, expressed his pleasure as well in joining the CVMC Board of Trustees. “I’m excited and honored to join the Board of Trustees at Catawba Valley Medical Center. It’s certainly an exceptional opportunity to become more familiar with the medical field and to be a part of this outstanding facility. I will enjoy working with the other board members, management and staff members to continue the excellent work that has been accomplished throughout the medical center’s forty-year history.”
