CVMC Opens Lactation Station at Health First Center March 3, 2008 Catawba Valley Medical Center (CVMC) recently opened Lactation Station at the Health First Center in Valley Hills Mall as a support and resource for breastfeeding mothers. Throughout time mothers have enjoyed the closeness created while breastfeeding their babies. Besides the mother-baby bonding that occurs with breastfeeding, babies also gain increased immunity to illness while receiving the most digestible and nourishing food possible. For those mothers who choose to breastfeed their babies, products are available at CVMC’s Health First Center and the hospital’s Birthing Center. Medela products available at the Health First Center include breastpumps for purchase or rent, breastfeeding supplies and intimate apparel. Pumps are also available for rental from the CVMC Birthing Center before or after delivery. CVMC’s Health First Center is located in Valley Hills Mall on the lower level next to Belk.
