HICKORY--Dr. Al Osbahr III, Catawba Valley Medical Center's (CVMC) Medical Director of Occupational Health Services, was notified recently by the North Carolina Industrial Commission of his appointment to its Medical Advisory Committee.
As a longstanding member of the N.C. Medical Society's Industrial Liaison Committee, Dr. Osbahr will share his expertise in this regard and assist in any disputes which occur over charged fee requests in worker's compensation cases.
Dr. Osbahr is a well-known specialist across the state, having served as a physician reviewer for many years for The Carolinas Center for Medical Excellence (formerly Medical Review of North Carolina) and a physician reviewer for the N.C. Industrial Commission in the past. He is certified by the American Board of Family Practice, the American Board of Independent Medical Examiners, and the American Board of Preventive Medicine.
Dr. Osbahr is also a FAA Aviation Medical Examiner and a member on the American Medical Association Council on Science and Public Health, board member and current president-elect of the N.C. Medical Society and member of the University of North Carolina School of Medicine's Gamma Chapter of Alpha Omega Alpha.
