Aug 21, 2008
Catawba Valley Medical Center's (CVMC) Brian Badders, a physical therapist in the medical center's Rehabilitation Services Department, recently received Wound Care Certification (WCC) from the National Alliance of Wound Care, according to Patricia Allred, CVMC Rehabilitation Services director.

"Brian has more than fifteen years of experience in direct wound care at Catawba Valley Medical Center and the achievement of WCC status is a testament to his academic and technical competence in the area of wound management," said Ms. Allred.

The National Alliance of Wound Care is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to the advancement and promotion of excellence in wound care through the certification of wound care practitioners in the United States.

Catawba Valley Medical Center is a not-for-profit, public healthcare system providing and promoting the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well-being of the public in addition to serving as a center for health education, wellness services, preventative medicine and acute care. CVMC, twice recognized by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a Magnet facility, was recently named as a "Distinguished Hospital for An Outstanding InPatient Experience" by J.D. Power and Associates as well as a Hospital of Choice by the American Alliance of Healthcare Providers.
