Jessica Lineberger, BSN, RN, Emergency Department
Jessica Lineberger joined the CVMC nursing team in June 2010 as a staff nurse on Psychiatry Services. Because she had a longing for a broader view of healthcare, she transferred to the Emergency Department (ED) in March 2011. Jessica really enjoys psychiatry nursing and working in the ED has allowed her to continue to use her psychiatric experience. Jessica has been very involved in Shared Governance and serves on the Magnet Council. In fact, she had the opportunity to represent CVMC at the 2011 Annual Magnet Conference in Baltimore. Jessica completed her BSN from UNC-Charlotte in December 2011 and plans to start pursuing her Master’s Degree later this year. She also hopes to obtain her certification in Emergency Nursing sometime this year.
Jessica is excited about the opportunities that EBP brings to nursing and believes EBP guides future nursing practice for patient care and safety. In addition to guiding care and promoting patient safety, Jessica firmly maintains that EBP provides a support system for nurses and “takes the guess work out of best patient practice.” Challenges occur every day in nursing related to best practice and EBP provides the support necessary to meet those challenges. Jessica says that, “not only is the age of our patient population increasing but also the complexity of their needs.” Because we are forced to meet more complex needs with fewer resources, “EBP is essential for nurses in today’s practice.” Jessica lives in Lincolnton with her husband, Jamie, and their 7-month old, full-blooded Blue American Pit Bull. In her spare time she enjoys arranging flowers, cooking, and reading mysteries from her favorite authors John Grisham and Harlan Coben. Jessica is excited about her nursing career at CVMC and looks forward to future opportunities. §
