Catawba Valley Medical Center Announces New Trustees and 2003 Board Officers

The Catawba County Board of Commissioners selected Commissioner Dan Hunsucker to serve as commissioner liaison to the Catawba Valley Medical Center Board of Trustees. He replaces former Commissioner W. Steve Ikerd in this role. Ikerd, CEO of Ikerd Enterprises, will continue to serve as a trustee, having been elected to fill a seat vacated by Jesse E. Salwen. Salwen retired from the Board on December 31, 2002 after 10 years of service, including the position of Chairman of the Board from January, 2000 through December, 2002.

Officers for the 2003 Catawba Valley Medical Center Board of Trustees include:

  • Clement Geitner, retired banker and President of Hickory Leather Co., Inc. and Fine Furniture, Inc., Chairman
  • Billy L. Price, Jr., M.D., Catawba Valley Internal Medicine, Vice-Chairman
  • C.E. “Sonny” Roseman, CEO of C.R. Laine Furniture Company, Inc., Secretary
  • Ronald H. Lindler, BB&T; Senior Vice President and City Executive, Treasurer.
Catawba Valley Medical Center is a not-for-profit healthcare system providing and promoting the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well-being of the public in addition to serving as a center for health education, wellness services, preventative medicine and acute care. The medical center was recently designated as the 32nd Magnet hospital in the nation and only the second facility in the Carolinas.
