CVMC’s Fitness Plus Offers Summer Swim Lessons
Catawba Valley Medical Center’s Fitness Plus is offering a series of summer swim lessons during June and July. All ages are invited to participate, but children need to be potty-trained to attend. Classes meet three times a week for three weeks and four levels are offered. Parents should choose the level most appropriate for their child’s current swimming abilities.
SESSION ONE will run June 9 through June 26 and will meet on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. The LEVEL I class will meet from 10 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Goals for this level include blowing bubbles, putting the face underwater and floating on the back and belly. LEVEL II will meet from 10:40 a.m. until 11:20 a.m. The goals for this class include dog paddling, front crawl and back stroke. The LEVEL III class will meet from 4 p.m. until 4:40 p.m. with goals including the front crawl, back stroke, breast stroke, side stroke and treading water.
SESSION TWO will run July 7 through July 24 and will meet on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. LEVEL II will meet from 10:40 a.m. until 11:20 a.m. The goals for this class include dog paddling, front crawl and back stroke. The LEVEL III class will meet from 4 p.m. until 4:40 p.m. with goals including the front crawl, back stroke, breast stroke, side stroke and treading water. The LEVEL IV class will meet from 4 p.m. until 4:40 p.m. with the goal of perfecting all of the strokes learned in previous sessions.
