Babysitters’ Clinic August 4, 2003 Catawba Valley Medical Center Offers Babysitters’ Clinic On Saturday, August 16 Catawba Valley Medical Center invites children 12 years and older to learn the basics of babysitting including safety skills at a Babysitter’s Clinic offered Saturday, Aug. 16 at CVMC’s HealthFirst Center at Valley Hills Mall. The Babysitters’ Clinic from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. will also teach attendees how to handle various kinds of situations that can arise while caring for children. The clinic is sponsored by the hospital’s Emergency Department and includes representatives from the Catawba County Sheriff’s Department, the Hickory Fire Department and Catawba County Emergency Medical Services. The cost for the clinic is $5 and includes lunch. Space is limited; call 828-485-2300 by Tuesday, Aug. 12 to preregister a child for attendance or to learn more about the class. The HealthFirst Center at Valley Hills Mall is a service of Catawba Valley Medical Center, a not-for-profit healthcare system providing and promoting the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well-being of the public.
