Lori Carswell, Lee Deal, Jennifer Hawk, Misty Oxentine, Melanie Spencer, Polly Torbush and Tamara Wakefield completed specialty certifications as Certified Ambulatory PeriAnesthesia Nurses. Jenifer Shook completed certification as a Certified Post Anesthesia Nurse.
Registered nurses committed to attaining certification must fulfill a prescribed number of years’ work within that specialty area in addition to successfully completing a rigorous written examination. Certifications are generally awarded for three to five years. Renewal requires continuing education and completion of other criteria such as published articles or teaching.
