Catawba Valley Medical Center Announces
New Emergency Room Director
Catawba Valley Medical Center recently announced that Marvin Ellison Haygood Jr. (“Van”) has joined the hospital as Emergency Department Director.
Haygood came to CVMC from The South Carolina Heart Center in Columbia where he was responsible for all registered nurse training, quality assurance, regulatory compliance, triage and staff development. In addition, he has served as Assistant Director of Emergency Services at Providence Hospital in Columbia and as Director of Emergency Services at The Regional Medical Center in Orangeburg, SC. A graduate of the University of South Carolina in Columbia, Haygood is currently pursing a doctorate in nursing.
“I carefully considered several job offers before I accepted the position at Catawba Valley Medical Center,” said Haygood. “During my first interview I knew this was where I wanted to continue my career. It is an honor to be on staff here.”
Catawba Valley Medical Center is a not-for-profit healthcare system providing and promoting the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well-being of the public in addition to serving as a center for health education, wellness services, preventative medicine and acute care. It was recently designated as the thirty-second Magnet facility in the nation and the second in the Carolinas.
