Catawba Valley Medical Center will offer a free session on Introduction to Healing Touch, an energy-based therapeutic approach to health and healing, on Tuesday, Aug. 3 from 6 to 7:15 p.m. in the AHEC classroom 105 adjacent to the hospital. This introductory session will be beneficial to nurses, clinicians, ministers, and lay people interested in relaxation and pain control.
Following a brief introduction to some basic principles in Healing Touch, attendees will have the opportunity to experience and share one or more of its techniques. A complement to traditional health care, Healing Touch providers use gentle, non-invasive touch to influence and help restore harmony and balance in the patient's energy system and promote self-healing. It is used in collaboration with other approaches to health and healing.
For more information on the Introduction to Healing Touch meeting, contact Rev. Cindy Jordan, CVMC director of spiritual care at 828-326-3366. To learn more about Healing Touch, visit the website www.healingtouch.net.
