“Do I Need a Lifeline?”, May 29

CVMC’s Lifeline Hosts Luncheon Meeting “Do I Need a Lifeline?” Tuesday, May 29

Catawba Valley Medical Center’s (CVMC) Lifeline program will host an education session on its services called “Do I Need a Lifeline?” at 12 noon on Tuesday, May 29. The lunch-and-learn meeting will be held in CVMC’s Health First Center in Valley Hills Mall.

Lifeline helps individuals with mobility or disability challenges continue to live independently at home with the assistance of the Lifeline device, a lightweight, waterproof button. If the user requires assistance, he/she can press this button to signal the Lifeline Home Unit to dial the organization’s 24/7 Response Center. Caring, fully-trained Personal Response associates have the user’s medical and personal information to get the appropriate help quickly.

“Helping people live with confidence is a mission we hold close to our hearts and one that all of us take seriously,” said Carol Beard, Lifeline program coordinator. “We are proud to support the active and independent lifestyle of older adults in our community.”

The meeting and lunch are free; attendees can also receive free Lifeline installation.

Preregistration is required by calling the Health First Center at 828-485-2300.

Catawba Valley Medical Center is a not-for-profit, public healthcare system providing and promoting the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well-being of the public in addition to serving as a center for health education, wellness services, preventative medicine and acute care. CVMC, recognized by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a Magnet facility, was recently named a Hospital of Choice by the American Alliance of Healthcare Providers.
