May CARE Employee May 23, 2007 Catawba Valley Medical Center Recognizes May CARE Employee

Catawba Valley Medical Center recently recognized Kim Pennell, RN, Patient Care Coordinator in the Birthing Center, as its May CARE employee. Following are a few comments offered in nominating Pennell: Kim works with our patients who experience the death of a baby. She shows much compassion to these families. She takes time to comfort the families, takes wonderful pictures of the baby for the family and attends all the funerals for the babies. Kim is a wonderful representation of what a CVMC Magnet nurse should be. As our bereavement RN, Kim’s amazing care of the patient is the most compassionate care I have witnessed. She is second to none.
