The National Council on Aging, along with the Access to Benefits Coalition, is supporting local community-based organizations like Catawba Valley Medical Center in educating people with Medicare about the new Medicare Prescription Drug Coverage (Part D). Called My Medicare Matters™, this comprehensive national education program will help attendees assess their personal situations, understand choices, compare plan options and make the enrollment decision right for the individual health and financial situation.
On Tuesday, April 25 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., My Medicare Matters™ van will be parked at Valley Hills Mall in Hickory to give Medicare beneficiaries the opportunity to sit down with trained educators to receive individualized attention and guidance. An appointment is required; please call Catawba Valley Medical Center's HealthFirst Center in Valley Hills Mall at 828-485-2300 to schedule an appointment.
Catawba Valley Medical Center is a not-for-profit, public healthcare system providing and promoting the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well-being of the public in addition to serving as a center for health education, wellness services, preventative medicine and acute care.
