Catawba Valley Medical Center recently announced its 2006 Medical Staff Officers and Department Chiefs, according to J. Anthony Rose, president and CEO. "Catawba Valley Medical Center is extremely fortunate that these physicians will provide leadership for the hospital's medical staff of more than 300 physicians," Mr. Rose stated. Robert Yapundich, MD, will serve as the 2006 Chief of Staff, with Robert Highland, MD, as Chief-Elect of Staff and Geoffrey DeLeary, MD, as Secretary.
The following physicians are serving this year as Department Chiefs: Emergency Medicine - H. Lawson Huggins, Jr., MD; Family Medicine - Bart Lopina, MD; Medicine-Wheaton Williams, MD; Obstetrics/Gynecology - Scott Chatham, MD; Pathology - Mark Atkins, MD; Pediatrics - David Berry, MD; Psychiatry - Charles Davis, MD; Radiology - Charles Scheil, MD, and Surgery - Daniel Barnette, MD.
