Acquiring and sending information through e-mail on the Internet has become a common practice for
many. To enable patients to more conveniently send and receive information to and from Catawba Valley
Medical Center, the facility is now providing a new service via the World Wide Web: online payment
service.
"We are pleased to add Online payment service and believe this will provide a more convenient
access to CVMC for those wishing to use a computer," said Sandra Shotton, the hospital's Director of
Business Services. "Patients can complete a pre-registration form, ask questions about billing online
and now submit payments online at their own convenience."
CVMC's new online payment services may be accessed through the hospital's web site,
www.catawbavalleymc.org by clicking "Online Payment" on the site's home page. CVMC will mail the patient's receipt to the address entered on this web page. To learn more about the medical center's new online payment process, call (828) 326-3652.
Also available through the hospital web site is online patient pre-registration. Simply click on "Preparing For Your Visit" and then select "Online Pre-Registration." Many of the fields (or blanks) in the form have an asterisk (*) which means these must be filled in with information or the form cannot be submitted through the Internet. When the pre-registration form is fully completed and submitted, the sender will receive a message of acceptance back from the hospital. The sender will be contacted if more information is needed. An online pre-registration form should be sent at least 72 hours prior to entry to the hospital for services. To learn more about this existing service, call (828) 326-3262.
Catawba Valley Medical Center also offers a customer service e-mail address for business services
or billing inquiries. Patients can e-mail questions regarding billing any time--24 hours a day, 7 days a
week-and receive a response the next business day. This option gives patients a convenient way to ask questions and receive answers at their convenience. It is important for a patient submitting inquiries via e-mail to give his/her full name and account number to ensure a timely response. To contact Business Services with a billing question, send your e-mail message to [email protected].
