Those teenage years that mark the mysterious and exciting transition time between childhood and adulthood bring lots of questions for both parents and children. To offer support, education and some fun, Catawba Valley Medical Center's HealthFirst Center at Valley Hills Mall invites mothers and their daughters between the ages of 10 and 15 years of age to attend "Mom and Me Teen Talk" at 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 29.
A representative of Clinique of Belk will be on hand to provide make up and skin care tips for the girls while the moms can participate in an informal discussion led by Katrina Redmond, Gynecology and Obstetric Nurse Practitioner, of Catawba Women's Center. Ms. Redmond will discuss puberty, health and nutrition issues, body image and the medical concerns associated with tatoos and body piercing.
To learn more or to register for this no-charge "Mom and Me Teen Talk," call the HealthFirst Center at 828-485-2300. Program size will be limited.
The HealthFirst Center at Valley Hills Mall is a service of Catawba Valley Medical Center, a not-for-profit healthcare system providing and promoting the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well-being of the public.
