Catawba Valley Medical Center (CVMC) invites residents from throughout the entire Catawba Valley area to join in a fun-filled afternoon at CVMC's HealthFirst Center in Valley Hills Mall on Sunday, April 30 for its second annual Women's Fair. Entitled "Celebrating Women: It's All About You," the event is organized to provide health and wellness information and entertainment especially for women.
Held from 1 to 4 p.m., "Celebrating Women: It's All About You" will offer booths staffed with CVMC professionals as well as other volunteers from area organizations.
With a theme emphasizing wellness and relaxation for women of all ages, the event will be packed with entertainment, education and cooking demonstrations. Throughout the event, attendees can visit the informational booths and receive free blood pressure checks and bone density screenings in the HealthFirst Center while youngsters can enjoy face painting and balloon art by Funny Business and have fingerprinting done by the Catawba County Sheriff's Department. Participants may also register to win a $250 Valley Hills Mall Gift Card at the mall Customer Service Desk (winner will be notified Monday, May 1). From 1 to 3 p.m. free Relaxation Massages by Leah Aiken will be offered. Children and adults can see a Magic Show by Funny Business from 1:30 to 2 p.m. in the lower level next to Belk.
CVMC's Executive Chef Thua Nguyen will offer Cooking Demonstrations from 2 to 3 p.m. in the mall's center court. Attendees can also watch a performance by Sonya's Dance Academy at 2:30 as well as a presentation on a new trend in fitness, Belly Dancing for Exercise, from 3:30 to 4 p.m., both in the lower level near Belk.
A DJ will also be on hand providing music throughout the event.
