Exercise Class Descriptions
(All classes are 45 minutes unless otherwise stated)
Beginner Level Classes:
Yoga Ease – Ease into your evening with deep stretches, focused balancing poses, followed with a relaxing meditation. Let go of the day’s stress and renew, restore, & relax with this 45-minute class suitable for most levels.
Chair Yoga – This is a great class for people who have a hard time getting up and down off of the floor. The poses are modified so that they can be performed while seated in a chair. People who cannot stand or have limited mobility can now enjoy the benefits of yoga.
SilverSneakers® Classic – Have fun and move through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement and activities for daily living. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a Silver Sneakers ball are offered for resistance, and a chair is used for seated and/or standing support.
Yoga Stretch – This class incorporates Yoga poses at a comfortable pace to safely deepen in to a stretch while gaining strength, flexibility and mobility. Participants will be on the floor during part of the class. Props are offered to meet the needs of the participant and to help create awareness in the pose. (Power sequences offered on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays to modify and deepen standing poses).
Intermediate Level Classes:
Ab Blast – (15 min) Abs, abs, and more ABS! 15 minutes, No Excuses!
SilverSneakers® Circuit – Combine fun with fitness to increase your cardiovascular and muscular endurance power with a standing circuit workout. Upper-body strength work with hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a SilverSneakers ball is alternated with low-impact aerobic choreography. A chair is used for standing support, stretching and relaxation exercises.
Yoga Align – This class compliments your body by utilizing proper muscles to prevent injury through alignment poses. Challenge yourself and build confidence in your practice as you gain mobility, stability and strength. Perfect for any level as modifications are offered.
Advanced Level Classes:
Body Burn – This class utilizes various methods to sculpt your body, including circuit training. Learn to use a variety of exercise tools such as, free weights, body bars, stability balls, resistance bands and body weight. You’ll keep your body guessing by varying the intensity of your workout.
Boot Camp – (30 min) Non-stop, total body workout! All out drills of speed, power & strength to build lean, fit bodies. We’re working head-to-toe – so check “lazy” at the door and let’s get moving!
Zumba® – Try this exciting class with Latin rhythms and easy to follow moves to create a dynamic fitness class. An exhilarating 45 minutes of calorie-burning, body-energizing, awe-inspiring movements!
STRONG™ by Zumba® – This class combines high intensity interval training (HIIT) with the science of synced music motivation. In every class, music and moves sync perfectly to push you beyond your perceived limits to reach your fitness goals faster.
FREE Heart Smart Nutrition Class – Learn how to eat a well-balanced diet that is low in cholesterol, saturated fat, and sodium, while promoting a healthy weight and lifestyle. Contact 828.326.2400 for additional information.
Additional Fee Based Services:
Personal Training/Small Group Training – When you hire a trainer, you take a step towards better health through fitness. Your Trainer will take you through your personally designed program, providing you with motivation, information and the support you need to reach your goals. Private Swim Lessons – Education and training by an experienced instructor to help infants (age 6 mo. +) up to adults gain swimming skills. Sessions are 30 minutes in length and may include up 3 participants. Learn more.
