Men
We know that most men lead very busy lives. Time for yourself is probably in short supply. With work, marriage, parenting, grandparenting, sports and dozens of other activities, men often overlook the importance of maintaining or improving their health and lifestyle.
At Catawba Valley Medical Center, men’s wellness is a top priority. Each month you will find a portion of our monthly calendar publication devoted to you exclusively. Featured in our Men’s Health section are all kinds of special events and activities for you. It might be a class especially for new dads like “Birth of a Father” or a prostate screening for men of all ages. While many of these events will be held in Catawba Valley Medical Center’s Health First Center in Valley Hills Mall (lower level beside Belk), classes and events for men are also offered throughout the community and at health fairs.
Each fall the Health First Center offers a men’s health fair to encourage men in our community to monitor their health and receive the screenings needed. Dale Jarrett, Inc. partnered with CVMC in 2006 for our men’s health fair entitled “Tune Up for Health” and featured keynote speaker and NASCAR legend Ned Jarrett.
If you would like more information on attending events targeted to the men in our community, please contact Debbie Leger-Scott, RN, at the Health First Center at 828-485-2300 or by e mail at [email protected].
