You need JavaScript enabled to view it This annual event featured exciting activities throughout the week, e.g., mini-EBP sessions on Levels of Evidence and Research & EBP Toolkits and Evidence-Based Resources, two journal clubs, a poster session featuring research, EBP and QI projects from LRU students and CVMC staff nurses, and a mock 'research' study. The Palliative Care Journal Club and the Magnet Hospitals & Patient Outcomes both sparked interesting discussions. In addition, participants had the opportunity to evaluate the quality of the research articles and validity of the findings. Ninety-five persons toured the poster session where 17 student posters and 6 CVMC nursing posters were displayed and received an EBP pen at the end. Sopapillas were served in the cafeteria in honor of the the CVMC staff and college seniors presenting. Charles McNally, BSN was lucky winner of the presenters' door prize. How many staff became subjects in the Salsa Tasting mock 'research' study? Well after forming their opinion, or hypothesis, about which salsa sample was the national name brand and which one was the store brand, 215 research subjects evaluated the different salsas by tasting. Their hypotheses were tested using a double-blind research design. Click here to view the results of the Double Blind Tasting Research Study.
