Physician Recruitment

Catawba Valley Medical Center's comprehensive, community-oriented care offers physicians and other health-care professionals the unique opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of their patients while enjoying the exceptional quality of life that defines the Catawba Valley.

Living and working in the Catawba Valley truly represents the best of both worlds. Nestled in the lush rolling foothills of North Carolina's scenic Blue Ridge Mountains, the area is a natural haven of sheltering trees, cool streams and wide, winding lakes and rivers with a mild climate that displays the best of all seasons. Yet for all its pastoral splendor, the Hickory Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) is the fourth largest in the state with a population of approximately 400,000. Known world wide for its furniture, hosiery and textile manufacturing, it has rapidly grown into one of the largest centers of manufacturing.

The area is also well known for its cultural and educational climate. The Catawba Valley is home to its own professional symphony orchestra, a host of arts and science museums and a thriving theater community. There are 36 public schools in Catawba County alone, and two colleges: Lenoir-Rhyne College, a 111-year-old liberal arts institution, and Catawba Valley Community College, a member of the N.C. Community College System.

Golfing, boating, fishing, water skiing, snow skiing, hiking, camping, tennis and cycling can all be enjoyed throughout the year in and around the area. The Catawba Valley is also home to its own minor league professional baseball team and stock car racing speedway, with additional sporting events such as the NFL's Carolina Panthers, the NBA's Charlotte Bobcats and Winston Cup Racing at Lowes Charlotte Motor Speedway only an hour's drive away in Charlotte.

We invite you to find out more about the unique combination of personal and professional fulfillment of working in a community-oriented hospital like Catawba Valley Medical Center, in a community like the Catawba Valley. The Future Of Health Care Is Here - and we believe you could have a future here, as well.
