A Cesarean surgical suite is located in the Birthing Center in the event that a surgical delivery is necessary during your childbirth. Along with your physician and surgical team, a neonatal nurse practitioner and respiratory therapist will be present to ensure that your baby receives optimal care at delivery.

After you and your partner have had an opportunity to visit with the baby, we will take the baby to the newborn nursery where the baby will be examined and bathed. If you are breastfeeding, the baby will be brought to you as you recover to initiate breastfeeding. As soon as you arrive back in your room, the baby will join you.
