Ron does double duty for CMF since he not only leads the CMF board, he also is president of the Board of Trustees for CVMC. Ron recently retired after a stellar banking career but he stays busy traveling with his newly-wed wife Mandy. Ron’s extensive knowledge of the hospital’s history allows him to play an important role in planning for the future. Rob is a retired bank executive.

Sybil may be retired but she is busier than ever with her many hobbies and philanthropic endeavors. She is a graduate of Lenoir Rhyne University and is still very active serving her alma mater. Sybil loves music and has played piano and organ for churches for years. She also travels frequently and reads voraciously when she is not spending time with her three children, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Sybil’s late husband David served on the CVMC Board of Directors for many years and they have always chosen CVMC for their healthcare needs. Sybil is a retired teacher, real estate agent and retailer.

Bill has served on the Catawba Medical Foundation board of directors for quite a few years and has been active in recruiting new members and bringing visitors on “behind the scenes” tours. As a graduate of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Bill went on to earn a MA from Central Michigan University and an MBA from Harvard Business School. Bill stays active playing golf, hiking and working in his yard. He also enjoys reading and sports in general. Bill is the president of

Cindy not only brings business knowledge to the CMF board, but she also brings a strong commitment to community service. She graduated from UNC-Charlotte before pursuing a career in investments and wealth management. It is her love of CVMC and all of its employees that makes her such an advocate for the foundation. Cindy and her husband Ernie enjoy traveling, hiking and dancing together. Cindy is the VP of Wealth Management at BB&T.;

Phil brings a solid knowledge of finance and business to the CMF board of directors. He graduated with a B.S.B.A. in business administration from UNC-Chapel Hill in 1983 and has become a highly-valued executive with one of the Catawba Valley’s leading corporations. He and his wife Leigh have also been strong supporters of the Casino Royale Catawba, CMF’s annual gala. Besides being a wine enthusiast, Phil enjoys rugby, surfing and hiking. Phil is the SVP of Corporate Finance at CommScope.

Although Jennifer has been associated with Catawba Medical Foundation’s Women In Philanthropy for several years as a major sponsor of the Party on the Lawn, she is now lending her talents to the board of directors. After graduating from NC State University with a B.S. in biological sciences, Jennifer continued her education at the JY Monk School of Real Estate. Jennifer is a busy wife and mother of a young daughter, but she still enjoys running, tennis, reading, traveling, music and cooking. Jennifer is a Broker/Realtor at Weichert, Realtors-Team Metro.
Jennifer Tingen Clark
After graduating from University of Tennessee Memphis medical school and serving in the Viet Nam war, Tom started his medical career as a general practitioner. He joined the CVMC staff—then known as Catawba Memorial Hospital—three months after it opened. After 12 years in general practice, Tom decided to specialize in anesthesiology and eventually served as Chief of Anesthesiology at CVMC from 1983 to 2005. He is the only physician who has served the hospital as Chief of Staff, Chief of Medicine and Chief of Surgery. Tom is married with two children, both of whom are nurse practitioners. Tom is a semi-retired anesthesiologist from CVMC.

Since Jeremy is married to a nurse, he knows first hand the importance of healthcare and sees the difference Catawba Valley Medical Center makes in our area. As a graduate of Lenoir Rhyne University with a degree in business administration and finance, he is very familiar with our community. Jeremy believes that it is his duty to be a good citizen by being involved, and he is! Jeremy volunteers for the March of Dimes and Fellowship of Christian Athletes as well as CMF. He also enjoys his free time by playing golf, basketball and baseball, usually with his son Owen. Jeremy is a Commercial Banker, VP at BB&T.;
Jeremy Krech
Scott brings not only a medical background to the board, but also business insight since he is the owner of his own medical practice. As a graduate of Shepherd College, Scott attended medical school at the University of Maryland. He completed a fellowship at the Maryland Institute of Medicine and an internship at Emory University. His interests include exercise, especially jogging and racquetball, and the Civil War. Scott is a Neurosurgeon at Catawba Valley Neurological & Spine, PLLC.

As a past president of Catawba County Medical Alliance, Nancy is very aware of how important good healthcare is to a community. Nancy has had strong ties to Catawba Valley Medical Center through her involvement in many of her community endeavors, including serving as board chairman of the Parenting Network. Nancy is a graduate of the University of South Florida, but she is a dedicated supporter of Wake Forest University. Besides spending time with her husband, Dr. Joel Miller, Nancy enjoys travel, literature and sports. Macy is a retired educator.

Relatively new to our community, Jeff has jumped into philanthropic service by serving on the CMF board even with a busy cardiology practice schedule. After attending the University of Virginia, he decided to pursue a pharmacy degree at the Medical College of Virginia. After he practiced for a few years as a pharmacist, he again returned to school to pursue a medical degree at Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine, followed by an internal medicine residency at The Carilion Clinic, a general cardiology fellowship at OhioHealth, and finally an interventional cardiology fellowship at The Carilion Clinic. Jeff and his wife Carrie moved to Hickory so that he could join Catawba Valley Cardiology as an Interventional Cardiologist. Jeff stays busy outside of work by raising three active children.

Jody is a lifetime resident of the Catawba Valley. After graduating from Bunker Hill High School, he continued his education with a degree in economics from UNC-Chapel Hill. Jody also attended the University of Pennsylvania’s Stonier Graduate School of Banking and Wharton Executive Leadership Program. Married with two sons, Jody still finds time to enjoy sports, golf and exercise. Jody is an Area Executive at Peoples Bank.

Originally from Ohio, Tom has wasted little time becoming involved in the Catawba County community. Big supporters of both the March of Dimes and the American Heart Association, Tom and his wife Diane recognize the importance of a strong community hospital, and Tom joined the CMF board ready to work. He enjoys spending time with his 10 children, traveling, hiking, tennis, racquetball and swimming. Tom is the VP Business Development/Co-Owner of Breen Color Concentrates.

Not only a successful businessman, Greg is well recognized throughout Catawba County for his community involvement. He has served for over 27 years as a volunteer firefighter in the Conover Fire Department. He may be most well-known for his dedication to his alma mater Clemson University and its football team. He and his wife Julie have two children. In his spare time, he enjoys golf and travel. Greg is the VP and General Manager/Operator of Drum & Willis-Reynolds Funeral Homes and Crematory.

Acting as Legal Counsel for Catawba Medical Foundation and has also been a longtime supporter of CVMC and the foundation. As a prestigious Morehead Scholar, Kim attended UNC-Chapel Hill, graduating with honors with a degree in English. She continued her education at UNC-Chapel Hill School of Law. Kim is married with a young son and somehow finds time to take on roles in the local community theater. She also enjoys reading and developing her on “BlingBook” jewelry organizer.
